Our environment is part of our identity, and we intend to protect it. The Liberty Hotel continues to take actionable steps towards sustainability and to be a leader in environmental best practices. Continue reading to learn what we’ve done and more importantly, where we’re going.

Energy & Carbon

100% of the guestrooms & guest’s hallways and back of the house is outfitted with LED lightbulbs, which utilize up to 80% less energy and last up to 25 times longer than traditional incandescent lightbulbs. 90% of Public area, meeting rooms and restaurants are also equipped with LED. Participation in Eversource’s ENEL-X’s energy reduction program allows The Liberty Hotel to reduce energy use during peak seasons.

Water Conservation

100% of toilets, faucets, and showerheads are low flow and produce significant water savings compared to traditional fixtures.

Waste & Food Waste
Each guestroom features full-size Molton Brown luxury toiletries to reduce plastic waste. The Liberty Hotel has replaced single-use shampoo, conditioner, and bath gel containers with larger, pump-topped bottles from Molton Brown keeping around 170,000 tiny plastic bottles out of landfills each year. With the elimination of plastic straws and only utilizing eco-friendly takeaway containers, The Liberty is able to provide biodegradable, ecofriendly options to guests.

The Liberty recycles not only paper supplies but food and oil waste.

Pebblebrook Hotel Trust (“Pebblebrook”) strongly supports AHLA’s 5-Star Promise. Our pledge to AHLA complements the practices and policies in-place by our company and our hotel operating partners which are designed to ensure that the hotel employees at our more than 50 owned hotels across the United States abide by the law, respect individual’s rights, and do not tolerate sexual harassment of any type at our properties. We have dedicated a significant amount of resources to assist our hotel operators with sexual harassment awareness training and avoidance programs, in addition to training and resources to prevent human trafficking. We will continue to engage with our hotel operators to provide the resources to further assist them in ensuring the safety of our hotel employees and our guests.
