The Oculus: Living The Liberty Life. October 2017

I’m thrilled to share the inaugural issue of The Oculus, The Liberty’s newsletter, with you!

We will be providing our fans with the latest updates from the hotel on an ongoing basis, and are excited to share our news with you. As the site of the former Charles Street Jail, we’re truly one of the most unique hotels in the country (maybe the world?), and just celebrated our 10th anniversary! Whether you’re here for business, a conference, or just for fun, our mission is to provide you with enjoyable memories of Boston and your time at The Liberty – and ensure that you have a ‘Quintessentially Boston’ experience. Be sure to check out our ‘Liberty Affairs’ event series while you’re here in Boston, including: Major Mondays; Gallery Night Tuesdays; Whole Note Wednesdays; Beat Weekends; Saturday Yoga Classes taught by instructors from Equinox; and ‘Fashionably LATE’ – our signature Thursday night fashion show featuring local Boston designers. I’ve been told we have the liveliest hotel lobby scene in town, and I would have to agree. I look forward to seeing you at The Liberty soon. Cheers, Glenn

Liberty Affairs: Fashionably LATE Thursdays
Our signature Liberty Affair, Fashionably LATE Thursdays, brings Boston’s fashion scene to life. Every Thursday, The Liberty becomes a who’s who of Boston’s fashion elite, as our rotunda lobby turns into an interactive fashion show, featuring live music from DJ Frank White. From 10pm – 11pm, models strut through the lobby’s “Catwalk” rotundas, pose on tables, ride the escalators, and weave through the crowd, as attendees evaluate everything from Ted Baker’s new line to an up-and-coming Boston designer’s work. Information on the next Fashionably LATE event can be viewed here: https://libertyhotel.com/liberty-affairs/

The Liberty Team
Happy Anniversary to The Liberty! We recently celebrated our 10 year anniversary. The Liberty opened its doors in September 2007. With numerous awards and accolades already under our belt, including Boston Magazine “Best of Boston” ‘Best Hotel – General Excellence’, The Liberty is excited to embark on another decade of offering bespoke service and unparalleled experiences.

As a token of appreciation to our associates who have been with us since opening day, we recently held a congratulatory champagne toast in The Yard, our outdoor courtyard. Cheers to the next 10 years!

Fun Fact:
The Liberty is a national historic landmark and architectural gem built in 1851 – the imaginative transformation of the storied Charles Street Jail into a 298-room luxury hotel! Design elements such as the jail bars in CLINK. are original to the historic structure, and are in their original location to this day.  Additional design elements, such as the wrought iron hand rails on the “Catwalk” rotundas (common areas that now ring the lobby), were carefully restored and incorporated into the project by our architecture and design teams. The name CLINK. is of course a playful nod to The Liberty’s past; and our other restaurant Scampo, that name means “escape” in Italian!
